In 1992, Mr. Alfred H. Liu was nominated by President Bush as Chairman of the National Institute of Building Sciences. In 2004, Liu was appointed as member and later Chairman of American Institute of Architects. He succeeded Mrs. Anna Chan Chennault as the chairman of the Republican Asian Assembly in 1991. Mr. Liu also participated in the U.S. Congress and challenged the U.S. trade embargo on China. He has made a huge endeavor introducing a series of standards of high-tech biomedical construction management to China, which has created the access for the Chinese biotechnology industry to the international standards.
Mr. Liu has a high worldwide reputation. He has been to Ghana, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Columbia, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Peru, and many other countries in Africa and Latin America, to introduce a variety of international projects to Chinese businesses and construction companies.

ARTIST
Mr. Alfred H Liu was born in Chongqing, China, and was raised in Taiwan. Liu's ancestor was the top one scholar in the Qing Dynasty, and was a teacher of Emperor Xianfeng. Mr. Liu reflected an extraordinary talent for painting at a young age. When Liu was six years old, one of his paintings was discovered Ms. Pi Yishu. At that time, Liu had not received any painting training, however, his talent made him known locally. Later, Liu's parents sent him to a famous artist, Pu Hsing-yu to learn poetry and painting. With talent and guidance, Liu became the top youth artist in Taiwan. At age 14, one of Liu's paintings was chosen by the Ministry of Education on behalf of Taiwan Government and sent to the Global Teachers Association in Washington DC as a gift.
When Alfred H. Liu was 17 years old, he held personal exhibition at Taiwan Chungshan Hall. His more than 200 paintings were sold out. At the exhibition, Liu was praised by Soong Mei Ling (Madam Chiang Kai Shek). Then Liu's exhibitions were held in France and South Korea. Liu exhibition received a great success, which makes him one of the first recognized young artists in Taiwan.
